Shannon Kemp is a Production Designer and Art Director with more than twenty years of
experience working in film and television. He graduated from Loyola Marymount University
in Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film production. Shannon then
worked a few years as a construction project manager in the Washington, D.C. area, where
he gained a firm professional foundation: interpreting and drawing blueprints, budgeting
labor and materials, dynamic cost tracking, and eUective personnel management.
In 2002 Shannon moved to Los Angeles to pursue work in the entertainment business. His
first job was working as the art director on a film directed by horror master Stuart Gordon
called “King of the Ants.” Since then, Shannon has worked either as the Production
Designer or Art Director on more than sixty productions that encompass a wide variety of
genres: horror, comedy, historical, documentary, action-adventure, drama, and children’s
programming.
Shannon has worked a wide variety of formats including feature films like: Robert DeNiro’s
comedy “About My Father, ” and the Josh Duhamel and Nick Nolte action picture “Blackout.”
Additionally, Shannon has experience working on half hour multicamera format shows like
Nickelodeon’s “Ryan’s Mystery Playdate,” and hour-long episodic television series like “CSI:
Vegas.” The wide range of his work experience has prepared Shannon to enjoy meeting the
unique challenges and opportunities each new production brings.
